On 3 October 2016 and 4 October 2016, the Interlan Association took part in the VI edition of the conference “New global challenges in cyber security”. The conference was organized by the National Computer Security Incident Response Center CERT-RO in collaboration with the United States Embassy in Bucharest. The approached subjects were related to the issue of cyber security and a cooperation framework was provided for the interested parties to find the best means to implement policies, best practice examples and new research-innovation methods in the field.
The Interlan Association took part in the ANCOM annual international conference called “The new paradigm of radio communications”. The event took place at the Radisson Blue Hotel in Bucharest. This year’s edition of the ANCOM conference was organized under the mark of a double anniversary – 25 years of modern spectre regulation and 150 years since Romania became a member of the International Union of Telecommunications. The conference proposed to explore two of the most globally current themes – emergency communications and dynamic access to the spectre resource.
Starting with 16 Spetember 2016 the interconnection with Radio Holding was performed on the TVX InterLAN platform. Thus, the following channels became available on the multicast flow: Kiss TV SD, Kiss TV HD, Magic TV SD, Magic TV HD, Rock TV SD and Rock TV HD.

During the RONOG 3 conference, in the second part of the day, the Interlan Association will organize with the ISOC (Internet Society) a technical discusion session regarding the implementation of IPv6, to which all operators that implemented IPv6 were invited and who want to share their experience within a Q&A panel. RIPE NCC organizes two days of courses at the Novotel Hotel in Bucharest on 13 September 2016 RIPE Database Training Course and 14 September 2016 Basic IPv6 Training Course.
Between 30 August – 1 September 2016, the delegation of the Interlan Association took part in the 7th AfPIF forum, “African Peering and Interconnection Forum”, which took place in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. AfPIF aims to promote the cross-border interconnection opportunities, its presence at the event being asured by infrastructure providers, Internet service providers (ISP), Internet Exchange Points (IXPs) and international financial institutions.
The Interlan Association took part in a series of discussions about investment priorities in the broadband field for 2014-2020, as provided in Priority Addendum 2 – Information and Communications Technology (ICT) for a competitive digital economy. This includes extending the broadband connection and broadcasting high speed networks, as well as supporting the adoption of emerging technologies and networks for the digital economy, digital inclusion, online culture and e-health, as well as improving the broadband infrastructure and Internet access. The meeting took place at the headquarters of the Ministry of Communications and for the Informational Society (MCSI)
The Interlan Association took part in the meeting of the ANCOM Advisory Board where the Draft position paper on the ANCOM Strategy for 2020 digital communications was discussed.
The Interlan Association took part in the debate regarding Internet Neutrality, organized by the Association for Technology and Internet (ApTI). It was a free debate during which an analysis was performed regarding the implications of Internet neutrality in the world and in Romania.
