During the RONOG 3 conference, in the second part of the day, the Interlan Association will organize with the ISOC (Internet Society) a technical discusion session regarding the implementation of IPv6, to which all operators that implemented IPv6 were invited and who want to share their experience within a Q&A panel. RIPE NCC organizes two days of courses at the Novotel Hotel in Bucharest on 13 September 2016 RIPE Database Training Course and 14 September 2016 Basic IPv6 Training Course.
Between 30 August – 1 September 2016, the delegation of the Interlan Association took part in the 7th AfPIF forum, “African Peering and Interconnection Forum”, which took place in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. AfPIF aims to promote the cross-border interconnection opportunities, its presence at the event being asured by infrastructure providers, Internet service providers (ISP), Internet Exchange Points (IXPs) and international financial institutions.
The Interlan Association took part in a series of discussions about investment priorities in the broadband field for 2014-2020, as provided in Priority Addendum 2 – Information and Communications Technology (ICT) for a competitive digital economy. This includes extending the broadband connection and broadcasting high speed networks, as well as supporting the adoption of emerging technologies and networks for the digital economy, digital inclusion, online culture and e-health, as well as improving the broadband infrastructure and Internet access. The meeting took place at the headquarters of the Ministry of Communications and for the Informational Society (MCSI)
The Interlan Association took part in the meeting of the ANCOM Advisory Board where the Draft position paper on the ANCOM Strategy for 2020 digital communications was discussed.
The Interlan Association took part in the debate regarding Internet Neutrality, organized by the Association for Technology and Internet (ApTI). It was a free debate during which an analysis was performed regarding the implications of Internet neutrality in the world and in Romania.
The InterLAN delegation took part in the “Google GEO Breakfast” hosted at the Phoenicia Grand Hotel by Globema in partnership with Google. The theme of the event was “Telecommunications, Technology and Innovation” and the solutions developed on the Google Maps Platform were presented and demonstrated live by Globema.
The InterLAN delegation took part in the conference dedicated to GDPR, the NIS Directive and the future cyber security law: practical implications of IT security, organized by RomsymData where discussions were carried out about the impact of the law on companies and government institutions collecting/processing personal data and both solutions and live demonstrations were presented.
The InterLAN delegation took part in the “Fortinet Security Day” conference, at the Intercontinental Hotel. During the conference, the newest Fortinet technologies, the strategies and initiatives of the company for the next period were presented.
InterLAN continues national expansion. Starting with 1 May 2016 InterLAN inaugurated a new POP in Krakow. Currently, the largest Internet Exchange in Romania, InterLAN Internet Exchange, owns 7 national and international POPs.
